Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
Darc is a weekly budgeting app made by Darc Finance LLC ("Darc", "we"). This policy covers the Darc apps, app.darcfinance.com and darcfinance.com. The short version: we collect what we need to build your weekly plan, we don't use it to track you, and we never sell it.
1. What we collect
All of the data below is linked to your Darc account. None of it is used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

| Support messages | What you send us by email or through feedback in the app. |

| Device ID | A push-notification token so we can send you notifications, and a random install ID, platform and device or browser type stored with each sign-in session for security. |
| Product interaction | How you use features inside Darc, for example which guided tours you've seen, which suggestions you've dismissed, and the settings you choose. We use it to avoid repeating tips and to keep the app working the way you set it. |
We also keep a record of when you agreed to our Terms and this policy. Like any online service, our servers keep standard logs, such as IP address and request times, for security and to fix problems.
We don't collect your bank login, your precise location, your contacts, or health information. We don't use advertising or analytics tools, and we don't use cross-app identifiers.
2. How we use it
- To build and update your weekly plan, and show your number, spending, bills, debt and savings.
- To sort your transactions into spending categories.
- To answer your questions in Darc AI.
- To send the notifications you've allowed, such as your Monday check-in.
- To reply when you contact us.
- To keep accounts secure and prevent fraud or misuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't use it to track you.
3. Bank connections through Plaid
Darc uses Plaid Inc. to connect to your bank. You sign in to your bank on Plaid's screen; Darc never sees or stores your bank login. Plaid shares your account and transaction data with Darc so we can build your plan. Darc can only read this data. It can't move money. Plaid handles your data under the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can disconnect a bank in Darc at any time (Profile → Banks & accounts → Disconnect).
4. Darc AI and Anthropic
Darc uses Anthropic in two places:
- Sorting transactions. When a new purchase arrives from your bank, its merchant name, description, amount and your bank's category are sent to Anthropic to pick a spending category. If you've corrected a merchant's category before, up to 10 of those corrections (merchant and category) are sent too.
- Darc AI. When you use Darc AI, your message and the parts of your plan and recent transactions it needs to answer are sent to Anthropic.
Anthropic processes this data to generate these results, and it is not used to train Anthropic's models. We never send your bank login or full account numbers. You can turn Darc AI off in Profile → Privacy → AI & communications. How Darc AI works.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that run Darc for us, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
- Plaid: bank connections.
- Anthropic: Darc AI replies and sorting transactions into categories.
- Google Cloud: the servers that run Darc.
- Supabase: our database.
- Vercel: hosting for the website and web app.
- Firebase (Google): delivering push notifications.
- Providers we use to send email, such as sign-up and password reset messages.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.
6. Financial privacy notice
We collect financial information from the accounts you link. We don't share it with companies outside Darc except the service providers above and as the law allows. We don't share it with other companies for their marketing, so there is nothing you need to opt out of.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we disconnect your banks through Plaid, end your sessions and delete your account data, usually within 30 days. Copies in our backups are removed as those backups expire. We keep information longer only where the law requires it. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and delete it when you ask.
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Access or export your data: Profile → Privacy → Your data → Export my data.
- Correct your name, email and plan details in the app, or ask us to correct anything else.
- Delete your account and data: Profile → Account → Delete Account (details).
- Disconnect a bank, turn off Darc AI, or turn off notifications in the app.
You can also email admin@darcfinance.com from the address on your account. We'll confirm it's you before acting on a request, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights.
California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we use sensitive information, such as your financial data, only to provide Darc to you. An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. Residents of other states with similar laws have the same rights, and can use the same steps above.
9. Children
Darc is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
10. Security
We protect your data in transit with encryption and store it with providers that encrypt it at rest. No system is perfect, and we'll tell you if a breach affects your data as the law requires. More about security.
11. This website
darcfinance.com doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. The Darc web app stores your sign-in on your device so you stay signed in.
12. Where Darc is offered
Darc is offered only in the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
