How can we help?

We reply within 2 business days. If you're writing about your account, send it from the email you use for Darc.

Getting started

How do I link my bank?

Sign in at app.darcfinance.com, tap Start my plan, then Continue to Plaid. Pick your bank and sign in on Plaid's screen with your bank's own login. Darc never sees or stores that login.

After you link, Darc pulls in your recent transactions. If your bank is slow, tap Start with what we have and Darc fills in the rest as it arrives. Not ready to link? Close Plaid and choose Continue without a bank for now.

Which banks work?

Darc connects through Plaid, which supports most banks and credit unions in the United States. You can link up to 5 banks, with one connection per bank. If your bank isn't in Plaid's list, Darc can't connect to it yet.

My income isn't showing

In Step 1 (Money in), Darc lists the income it found. Check the box next to each one you want counted. If something's missing, tap + Add income we missed.

If your pay is irregular, switch Step 1 to From my balance and pick a date your money needs to last until. You can change this any time in Profile → Plan & goals → Your income.

A deposit only shows up once your bank sends it to Plaid, so a brand-new paycheck can take a little while to appear.

How do I set up my plan?

Darc walks you through six steps, showing what it found in your bank activity at each one:

  1. Money in: your paychecks and deposits, or your balance
  2. Bills: Darc suggests regular bills; only the ones you confirm count
  3. Commitments: money you set aside on a schedule
  4. Debt: what you owe and how fast to pay it
  5. Savings: how much to put away each week
  6. Spending: weekly limits for each category

Then you see your first weekly number. To change anything later, tap Edit plan on Home, or go to Profile → Plan & goals.

Your number

How is my weekly number calculated?

Your plan for the week is money in, minus the bills you've confirmed, your commitments, your debt payment and your savings. Whatever you've spent this week (debit and card purchases) comes off that, and what's left is your number.

Anything that isn't weekly is converted to a weekly amount. For example, a monthly bill counts as 12 ÷ 52 of its amount each week. Tap how on Home to see your own breakdown.

Card purchases vs card payments

A purchase on a credit card counts as spending the moment you make it. When you later pay the card bill, that payment doesn't count again. Transfers between your own accounts never count as spending or income.

Pending charges and holds

A charge marked Pending means your bank hasn't finalized it yet. Pending purchases still count toward this week, so your number already includes them. Tap the tag to learn more.

Gas stations, hotels and car rentals often place a temporary hold, and some sites charge $1 to check your card. Darc marks these Hold · may drop off. They count until your bank drops or finalizes them.

Why did my number change?
  • New transactions came in from your bank. Every money screen shows when it was last updated, and you can pull down to refresh.
  • A pending charge posted for a different amount, for example after a tip was added.
  • You confirmed a bill, added income or changed a step in your plan.
  • A new week started.

Banks

Reconnecting a bank

Banks sometimes ask you to sign in again. When that happens, Darc shows a Reconnect card under Your next move. You can also go to Profile → Banks & accounts → Reconnect.

Some purchases only show up after they post

Some banks don't share pending purchases, only finished ones. For those banks, a purchase appears in Darc once it posts, and your number updates then. Nothing is lost; it's just later than at banks that share pending charges.

Removing a bank

Go to Profile → Banks & accounts and tap Disconnect. Darc tells Plaid to remove the connection, and new transactions stop syncing. Transactions already in Darc stay until you delete your account.

Account

Face ID

In the phone app, after you sign in, Darc asks once whether you'd like to use Face ID (or your fingerprint) next time. Turn it on or off any time in Profile → Security.

You can also turn on Lock app with Face ID, which asks for Face ID when you come back after a few minutes away. It's off unless you turn it on. Your password is never stored on your phone, and your face data never leaves it.

Staying signed in

Darc keeps you signed in on each device until you go 30 days without using it. Signing out only signs out that device. To sign out everywhere, go to Profile → Security → Sign out of all devices. Changing your password also signs out your other devices.

Forgot your password?

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email. We'll send you a link to set a new one. If you signed up with Google or Apple, sign in with that button instead.

Signing in with Apple or Google

Continue with Google works on the web and on your phone. Continue with Apple works in the iPhone app. New accounts agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy before they start.

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Profile → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and data and disconnects your banks. What gets deleted, and what to do if you can't sign in.

Darc AI

What Darc AI can and can’t do

Darc AI answers questions about your money using your plan and your transactions, explains your spending, and can suggest a plan to pay off your cards, save for something, build a cushion or make your money last.

It can't move money, recategorize transactions or change your settings. It can be wrong, and it isn't financial advice. How Darc AI works.

It never changes your plan without asking

When Darc suggests a change, you see a card showing exactly what would change, with Apply to my plan, Adjust first and Not now. Nothing changes until you confirm, and you can undo right after. You can turn Darc AI off in Profile → Privacy → AI & communications → AI coaching.
